The Case of Independence

My bestfriend got this which made her really cry.

"I don't like to fall in love too deep. I really like you. I don't want to lose you. But I don't want a relationship. I want to be independent. Can you understand that?"

As a matter of fact, no, i don't understand this. But I do admire the courage.

Wanting to see someone as much as you can just because you want to make the most out of the time you can spend together is about OPTIMIZING time. It doesn't mean she wants to spend the rest of her life with you which is what being in a "relationship" is for her. Do you get it? Don't jump into conclusions.

And don't try to hold her hand. FYI, you are sending her the wrong message.
